An experienced travel agent from Crewe has celebrated 12 months of operating her own holiday booking business, now on the lookout for new customers.

Crewe resident, Angela Wilkinson, who has over 35 years in the travel industry, started 'Your Holiday Booking' in December 2022.

The former St Thomas More Catholic High School pupil's passion for travel began in her teens, having visited Spain, Italy, Greece and the Canaries with parents.

Angela told Nub News: "At 17, I left college and began my journey into travel retail, working for Gray Travel in Nantwich.

"Several agencies later and by the age of 21, I worked my way up to become a manager for Pickfords Travel in Hanley.

"I then decided I wanted to work abroad and lived in Spain for 15 years. I did the holiday rep route and lived in Ibiza, Majorca, Menorca and Tenerife.

"After settling in Tenerife for 11 years, in 2006 I returned to the UK to spend more time with my mum, dad and daughter.

"I decided I wanted to share my knowledge and experience and return to where I started in the travel industry helping customers find their dream holidays."

Angela currently works for the South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce, with Your Holiday Booking a side business.

Angela Wilkinson lived in Tenerife for 11 years, before returning to the UK in 2006 (Wiki Commons).

The Crewe resident also teaches Spanish classes for Spanish Classes Cheshire in the local area.

Angela said: "Doing the Spanish lessons, I kept getting asked by people for advice on where they should go on holiday.

"I thought I may as well turn this into a business and have been operating Your Holiday Booking for 12 months this December.

"I am a home worker and open evenings and weekends when the majority of travel agents aren't at work. I also offer virtual meetings to add that personal touch.

"It has been quite a whirlwind year for me, but now i feel like I am back in my lane."

Angela believes her business adds a personal touch for customers looking for their dream break.

Your Holiday Booking is growing its customer list and can arrange any trip from the major suppliers.

"To book a holiday, customers would contact me by telling me where they want to go, how long they want to stay for and how many people are going.

"They would also tell me what airport they want to fly to and what mode of transport they are taking.

"After proving all their details, I would go and do all the research, check out the prices and either ask for a deposit or full payment, depending on the timing."

Angela has started hosting new travel show 'The Boarding Pass' on Crewe and Nantwich's The Cat radio.

It is live on 107.9FM between 11am and 12pm every Friday.

The Crewe resident added: "I am a very experienced, approachable and knowledgeable person. In a call centre you can't build up a personal connection, which is where I come in.

"I have had repeat bookings and am currently in the process of booking a Thailand holiday. 

"I have also booked the likes of Spain, Greece, Portugal, Singapore, Australia and other worldwide destinations.

"Having lived and worked in Spain, I can offer great advice on where to stay, where to eat and where to visit.

"I literally work to travel and am always looking at my next flight. I have a cruise booked for February, am going to Madrid in May and hope to go to America next year.

"I would like to offer customers £10 off with every £500 spent on a booking by quoting "Nub News."

Angela Wilkinson is currently in the process of booking a Thailand holiday for a customer (Wiki Commons).

Your Holiday Booking is open 5pm until 9pm on weekdays and 11am until 7pm on weekends, with flexibility for urgent bookings.
