Superdrug has told Nub News it has "no plans" to close its Crewe town centre store, despite submitting proposals to open on Grand Junction Retail Park.
This October, Triton Nominee One and Two Limited submitted proposalsto Cheshire East Planning on behalf of Superdrug for Unit 6, Grand Junction Retail Park.
Superdrug, which currently operates from The Market Shopping Centre, will take on the former Carpetright unit, vacant since August.
The UK's second largest health and beauty chain plans external alterations to the front and rear of the retail premises.
With these plans, it looked likely Superdrug would be departing Crewe town centre, which the retailer has now refuted.
A Superdrug spokesperson told Nub News: "Superdrug currently have no plans to close their Crewe town centre store."
In nearby Shrewsbury, a town of a similar size to Crewe, Superdrug operates a town centre and retail park store.
The last date for submitting comments on Superdrug's Grand Junction Retail Park application is Friday 8 November, with a target decision date of Wednesday 4 December.
