Staffordshire man charged with four shoplifting offences in two Crewe shops
A Staffordshire man is appearing at court today (February 20), after being charged with four counts of theft from two Crewe convenience stores.
Dion Bengry, 24, of Blurton, Stoke-on-Trent was arrested by Staffordshire Police at around 4:20pm on Sunday 18 February.
Three of these charges relate to incidents at Co-op Food Coppenhall, Parkers Road, in January.
The other charge relates to an incident at Co-op-Food, Remer Street.
Bengry, who has been remanded in custody since Sunday, appears at Chester Magistrates' Court today.
A Cheshire Police statement read: "Staffordshire Police arrested Dion Bengry, 24, of Staffordshire, on Sunday 18 February at around 4.20pm.
"He has since been charged by Crewe Beat Management Unit with four counts of theft from shop.
"Three of the charges relate to incidents that occurred in January 2024 at a convenience store on Parkers Road.
"The fourth charge relates to an incident that occurred at a convenience store on Remer Street.
"Bengry has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Chester Magistrates' Court on Tuesday 20 February.
"We are urging local residents to report any suspicious activity to Cheshire Police on 101, give the details via the website or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
