Crewe-based construction company, Construction Linx, is supporting businesses in preparing for upcoming changes to fire safety regulations.

From July 4, 2025, the use of AFFF (aqueous film-forming foam) fire extinguishers will be banned due to the presence of PFAS chemicals.

Known as "forever chemicals," PFAS are linked to serious health risks, including liver and kidney disease, decreased fertility, and certain cancers.

Construction Linx, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, is urging businesses in Crewe and beyond to act now (Nub News).

These substances also have a lasting environmental impact, contaminating water and food supplies.

Construction Linx has positioned itself as a trusted partner for businesses navigating this shift.

With expertise in fire safety compliance, it offers tailored solutions to help property managers and business owners identify, replace, and safely dispose of non-compliant extinguishers.

Acting early avoids non-compliance, which could lead to fines or legal issues.

Construction Linx conducts thorough inspections to determine if existing extinguishers contain PFAS. For replacements, it provides environmentally friendly alternatives, including water mist and fluorine-free foam extinguishers.

It also ensures proper disposal of outdated units through licensed contractors, meeting regulatory standards without harming the environment.

By switching to PFAS-free extinguishers, businesses not only ensure compliance but contribute to a more sustainable future while protecting employees, customers, and the community.
