A Crewe African pub and restaurant which launched on the edge of the town centre last autumn, has opened a new spacious rooftop garden.

Oden Lounge, High Street officially opened its outdoor balcony area at 3pm on Friday 11 July, accommodating up to 30 guests.

Operated by husband and wife, Opeyemi and Duduyemi Opaleye, Oden Lounge open until 1am at weekends, offering African cuisine, along with beers, wines, spirits, cocktails and mocktails.

Oden Lounge, created on the need to gather the fast-growing Crewe multicultural community under one roof, operates three zones within the venue, formed of a pub area (with Sky Sports), cosy area and dining area.

Duduyemi said: "Our new rooftop garden with an astro turf floor offers a new, relaxing, area to enjoy food and drink and chill out on a sunny afternoon. We look forward to welcoming customers to it.

"At Oden Lounge, we now have more people on the ground, with five staff, making operations run smoother. The food and drink menu is well received by the people who come in.

"Our jollof rice continues to be a best seller, along with the pounded yam. We get people regularly asking for our fish dishes which are also really popular. We also serve the likes of burgers, chicken wings and authentic soups.

"Our bottled Nigerian alcoholic bottles go down well, with our cocktails and mocktails growing in stature as we train staff to get them exactly how we want them.

"Our website is up and running, as well as our landline [01270 483649], our events are becoming more regular and we have improved our social media presence, including on Facebook.

"We now offer deliveries on Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Just Eat, running until 9pm on weekdays and midnight on Friday and Saturday nights.

"Oden Lounge was based on the need to bring together the fast-growing multicultural community under one roof to experience the variety of amazing services we offer.

"We are a one-of-its-kind business in Crewe, specialising in core Nigerian food. We are attracting customers from across Cheshire East and hope to keep increasing our numbers week-on-week."

Oden Lounge is open 3pm to 10pm (Tuesday to Thursday), 3pm to 1am (Friday), 1pm to 1am (Saturday) and 2pm to 10pm (Sunday) (Ryan Parker).
