Crewe Alexandra have secured the loan signing of a Premier League goalkeeper, becoming the club's fourth summer signing.

Sam Waller has joined Crewe on a season-long loan from Burnley, who were promoted back to England's top tier in 2024/25.

Waller, 21, came through the youth ranks at Turf Moor and is contracted to the Lancashire club until 2026, with an option for a further 12 months.

The Stockport-born shot-stopper who made 20 appearances for Rochdale in the National League last season, has enjoyed previous loan spells at Lancaster City and Hyde United,

Now, Waller will now battle Tom Booth to start in goal for Crewe's opening EFL League Two away to Salford City on August 2.

Although no time frame for the 21-year-old's rehabilitation has been established, Crewe have confirmed Tabiner will not play again in 2025.

Waller joins full back, Reece Hutchinson, striker, Josh March, and centre back, Phil Croker in joining Lee Bell's squad for the 2025/26 season.
