A family-run independent business has acquired a busy laundry shop in Crewe, with new services set to be introduced in the "near future."

On Friday 22 August, Sunrise Laundry Services, Gateway, announced it had officially taken over XL Cleaning Services, Nantwich Road.

Run by Chris Gillard, wife, Sam, daughter Danielle, (responsible for operations), and son, Robert, the family business continues to grow from strength-to-strength.

The business has confirmed it will be gradually rebranding the Nantwich Road shop to incorporate its GreenClean brand, specialising in a modern alternative to dry cleaning, wet cleaning.

Sunrise Laundry told Nub News: "We are pleased to announce we have recently acquired XL Cleaning which is a busy domestic and commercial laundry situated on the Nantwich Road. 

"For a couple of years now we have been looking for the right opportunity to increase our profile within the local community and having got the chance to get to know Matt and his team at XL, it seems like a perfect solution as we seek to make Sunrise more accessible to our current and future customers. 

"It will be business as usual for all of our customers and although we will be introducing new services in the near future, we are committed to providing the same high levels of service our customers have come to expect from XL Cleaning.

"Crewe and Nantwich does not currently have a resident dry cleaning business and so we are looking forward to helping all those customers who either travel further afield to get their cleaning done or alternatively take any items they need cleaning to expensive drop-off points. 

"We already get a large number of customers picking up and dropping off from our main unit in Gateway and this will continue to be an option for those customers who find this more convenient 

"Having said that, we will review our opening hours in the months to come and even look at quick drop/collect solutions to make our services even easier to access for busy members of our community."

"Over the next few weeks, we will gradually be rebranding the XL shop to incorporate our GreenClean brand which specialises in providing a modern alternative to dry cleaning, this is called wet cleaning and can successfully clean over 97 per cent of dry cleanable items.

"The difference is it does so using a sustainable process which is both environmentally friendly and, is less hazardous to our employees."

Sunrise Laundry plans to offer home delivery and collection services from its new shop, including to workplaces.

The business said: "You might be surprised to know we can clean wedding dresses, prom dresses, formal suits, designer clothing, casual wear, office wear and sportswear whilst also offering a domestic wash, dry and fold service for everyday clothing items. 

"Other plans we have include home delivery and collection services. We have already received "Evie" our first electric vehicle and she will soon be seen gliding around the town delivering and collecting to all of our local customers. 

"We can also collect and deliver to your place of work, be that a showroom, office or shop. We have a wide range of convenient payment options available including doorstep, online or over the phone. 

"Our customers will also be able to request a pick up or delivery simply by using our app. We will be introducing a loyalty scheme offering discounts to our regular customers 

"We will also be offering the opportunity to hire table linen, napkins, chair covers and sashes to anyone planning a party, wedding or any other special occasion.
