A road outside a high school is Crewe is now closed until the weekend, allowing a new pedestrian crossing to be installed.

Coronation Street, between Elm Drive and William Way (outside Sir William Stanier School), closed on Monday 28 October.

The road is set to reopen on Sunday 3 November following the installation of a new pedestrian crossing with a buildout.

The new pedestrian crossing aims to improve the safety of pupils attending Sir William Stanier School (Ryan Parker).

The buildout will include a new crossing, adjustments to existing road markings, new road marking and signage, including a new give-way sign.

Emergency access and resident access will be maintained where possible.

The diversion route is via Ridgway Street through to Middlewich Street.
