A road in Crewe is closed after a "dangerous" chimney stack came loose in the town, following strong winds from Storm Darragh.
On Saturday 7 December, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service received reports of an incident on Gatefield Street.
At 6.29pm, one fire engine from Crewe, plus one fire engine and the aerial ladder platform from Chester, arrived at the scene.
On arrival, fire crews discovered parts of the chimney had already blown off into the street.
Firefighters used an aerial ladder to reach the chimney and safety remove it, preventing anymore potential harm.
A section of Gatefield Street remains closes following the storm damage.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Fire crews were called to a dangerous chimney stack which had come loose in the high winds and started to blow off into the street.
"Firefighters used an aerial ladder platform to reach and remove unsafe material from the roof and prevent it from causing any harm."
Three hours earlier, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service responded to reports of damage and collapse of a gable on a building on Nantwich Road.
Around 3.27pm, a full evacuation and cordon was put in place, with firefighters isolating gas and electricity supplies to the building.
Firefighters then handed the incident over to a structural engineer. Thankfully no one was injured in these incidents.
