Promising Crewe goalkeeper pens new deal with club until 2025
A promising Crewe Alexandra goalkeeper has penned a new two-year deal with the club - after breaking into the first-team towards the end of the season.
On Tuesday 13 June, Tom Booth, 18, signed a new contract with Crewe - keeping him at the club until at least the summer of 2025.
The homegrown keeper penned an initial two-year deal, with an option for a further 12 months part of the agreement.
Booth joined Crewe's youth ranks at the age of eight - making his first-team debut in a 2-0 defeat at Grimsby Town this April.
The shot-stopper kept his place in the Alex side for wins over Swindon and Bradford, and a draw at Newport on the last day of the campaign.
Booth spent time on loan at Kidsgrove Athletic in 2022.
Most recently, Booth was loaned out to Nantwich Town - making 26 appearances for the South Cheshire club.
The teenager will now fight for the Alex number one jersey in 2023-24.
Crewe are currently on the hunt for a new loan goalkeeper - in talks with Liverpool's Harvey Davies (19).
Welsh keeper, Dave Richards, 29, has been placed on the club's transfer list by manager, Lee Bell.
