Popular Crewe pub applies to remove door staff condition on weekends and match days
A popular Crewe pub has submitted a premises license application to the council - seeking to remove a condition for door staff on weekends and football match days.
Attleborough Leisure Limited, on behalf of The Crafty Beggar, Pedley Street, applied for a minor variation of its premises license on Thursday 18 May.
This application seeks to remove condition seven of the Crewe pub's current premise license - involving the employment of door staff.
If successful, The Crafty Beggar will not have to employ door staff on Fridays, Saturdays and any home Crewe Alexandra football match days.
The premises license application has been submitted to Cheshire East Council.
It reads: "Notice is hereby given that we, Attleborough Leisure Limited have applied on 18th May, 2023 to Cheshire East Council in respect of the premises known as Albion/Crafty Begger, 1 Pedley Street, Crewe, CW2 7AA.
"The minor variation seeks to change:
"To remove condition 7 off the premises licence. (Door staff employed on Fridays, Saturdays and any home football matches)."
Representations to this application should be made to The Licensing Section, Cheshire East Council, Crewe Municipal Buildings by Friday 2 June.
