Crewe Town councillor 'very privileged' to become town's mayor for second time
A Crewe Town Council councillor has said he is 'very privileged' to become the town's mayor for a second time - formally appointed for the next 12 months.
Dennis Straine-Francis was elected as Crewe Town Council's tenth mayor at the Annual Meeting of Council - held at the Municipal Buildings on Tuesday 16 May.
As part of the meeting, Cllr Dennis Straine-Francis was formally appointed as the new mayor for the next twelve months.
Councillor Dawn Clark was appointed as deputy mayor.
Following the Annual Meeting of Council, the recently-elected town councillors gathered in Memorial Square by the Knife Angel monument for a photograph.
Mr Straine-Francis was delighted to represent Crewe again - believing it is a "fantastic town to live and work in."
The new mayor told Nub News: "I feel very privileged to become the Mayor of Crewe for the second time.
"Crewe is a fantastic town to live and work in and I look forward to promoting the great work that happens in the community."
