An evening celebrating Crewe's cultural diversity will take place in the town centre again this weekend - less than five months after the success of the first event.

A Polish Evening will be held inside Crewe Central, Lyceum Square, this Saturday (July 16), from 4pm.

The event is being held in aid of Ukrainian refugees and runs until 11pm.

It will include traditional Polish food and drink, Polish Elvis Presley, Poppies Polish Music Band, a children's dance performance, arm wrestling, a prize raffle, face painting and a bouncy castle.

Polish Evening aims to create a strong connection with the town's Eastern European community.

There has been an established Polish community in Crewe since the Second World War - with there once being Polish Social Club on West Street.

Crewe has been twinned with Dzieroniw, a town in south-western Poland, since 1991.

Cllr Nan Walton, Mayor of Crewe, welcomed the return of the Polish Evening, saying: "The Polish Evening earlier in the year was such a great event. It was so well supported, and lively.

Mayor of Crewe, Cllr Nan Walton, is delighted Polish Evening is back in Crewe (Crewe Town Council).

"I really am pleased to see it back in the Market Hall again."

The first Polish Evening event was held on Saturday 26 February - running from 5pm until 11pm.

It was hugely popular and included free live music, a face painting session, a Polish treasure hunt and a round of quizzes, including 'Who wants to be a millionaire?'

Cllr Walton added: "It's great to see our community celebrating our diversity and I hope that the Polish Evening has a long future in Crewe.
