Police investigate 'suspected' arson incidents in Crewe

Cheshire Police are investigating "suspected" acts of arson in Crewe, after fire crews responded to two late night incidents at the same location.

On Sunday 25 February, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service received two reports of blazes on Heathfield Avenue.

One fire engine from Crewe responded to incidents at 9:15pm and 11:49pm, involving abandoned furniture.

Crewe firefighters used a hose reel jet to put out the flames on both occasions.

Cheshire Police were called to the scene, with crews believing the fires were started deliberately.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish a fire involving abandoned furniture.

"The incident was handed over to the police as it is suspected to have been ignited deliberately."

Crewe Nub News has contacted Cheshire Police for comment.
