Police end 'zero tolerance' dispersal order tackling crime in Crewe town centre
Crewe Police have ended a 'zero tolerance' dispersal order within the town centre - aimed at tackling anti-social behaviour and other crimes.
The dispersal order for Crewe town centre was in place from Friday 24 February at 8:15pm until Sunday 26 February at 7am.
It affected areas bounded by West Street, Dunwoody Way and Vernon Way.
This order was created in attempt to tackle anti-social behaviour and crime and disorder within Crewe town centre.
Crewe Police had the power to hand anyone breaking these rules a direction to leave the area for 48 hours.
Anyone who failed to comply with this direction were committing a criminal offence.
PC Lorna Allix, of Crewe Beat Team, released a statement on social media confirming the dispersal order.
The statement read: "If any individual is committing or likely to commit anti-social behaviour or crime and disorder they will be given a direction to leave the area for 48hrs.
"Failure to comply with this direction is a criminal offence.
"Zero tolerance to the anti-social behaviour in our town."
Crewe Police says it tries to be visible on the town's streets 'where possible' and conducts high visibility patrols when it can.
