Plans have been submitted for a new shop in the West End of Crewe, with local residents objecting to the potential development.
In September, Mr Paul Henning of Zeta Property Ltd, submitted a change of use from residential to commercial at 333B West Street, on the corner of Frank Webb Avenue.
The application site is a two storey end-terraced dwelling, comprising a reception, two halls, a kitchen, external porch, garage, landing and four bedrooms.
Mr Henning wants to convert the ground floor reception room into a shop, much to the disapproval of two local residents.
A resident of Barn Croft Road, objected, saying: "We don't need more retail or commercial properties on West Street.
"It's got some already where youths hang out and cause trouble. This will just attract unwanted people and attention."
In the 1980s, the West Street unit was used as a grocery shop.
Planning to turn the building into a chip shop was also refused in 1986.
According to the application, a business last traded from the site in 2014.
A resident of 4 Alder Drive, added: "Is this really a good location for a shop with foot traffic/parking."
A Cheshire East case officer visited the site on Thursday 10 October, with the application having a target decision date of Tuesday 29 October.
