A petition has been launched calling for global music star Pitbull to perform at Crewe Alexandra's Mornflake Stadium.

The online petition, started by Andreea Demian, has attracted over 70 verified signatures.

Posters promoting the 'Mr Worldwide' campaign for the 10,153 capacity stadium have appeared in shop windows across Crewe.

Andreea hopes to convince the club and local leaders to bring the rapper, singer and producer to the town.

In the petition, Andreea says: "I've lived in Crewe for 10 years now and have heard everything there is under the sun about this town.

"It seems to me that public perception of Crewe is tinged with a nihilistic sentiment; 'Crewe is for passing through'.

"What better way to challenge and change this narrative than by hosting an internationally acclaimed artist like Pitbull at our very own Crewe Alexandra Stadium?"

Andreea says a Pitbull concert would boost the local economy and help put Crewe on the map, believing the stadium is well placed to attract fans from across Cheshire and beyond.

Her petition adds: "Investing in bringing Pitbull to Crewe is more than just about music; it's an opportunity for community engagement, economic stimulation and a rebranding of our town's image.

"Pitbull's diverse fanbase can bring people together from all walks of life, fostering community spirit and pride.

"We're calling upon the Crewe Alexandra Stadium management and local community leaders to collaborate in making this exciting vision a reality.

"Securing Pitbull as a performer here is an achievable goal if we come together and demonstrate the demand and support.

"If we can get Pitbull, we can do anything."
