One person was checked over by paramedics, following a serious blaze on an allotments site near Bentley Motors in Crewe.

On Thursday 17 September, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to an incident on Hulme Street.

At 2.53pm, two fire engines from Crewe and Nantwich arrived at the scene, discovering a large shed well-alight, beginning to spread to nearby sheds.

One person received precautionary checks from North West Ambulance Service paramedics at the scene.

They are expected to make a full recovery.

Crewe and Nantwich firefighters were at the scene for over two hours, waiting until all areas were dampened down.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to tackle a well-established fire involving a large shed.

"The fire was also beginning to spread to other nearby sheds when crews arrived.

"One person has received precautionary checks from paramedics at the scene.

"By 3.30pm, firefighters made good progress and continued to dampen down the area.

"At 4.30pm, Crews hot spotted and dampened down areas damaged by the fire. The incident was closed at 5.06pm."
