A house has seemingly 'vanished' from a new housing estate in Crewe - with residents confused as to why it has been demolished.

Weston Woods, East Avenue, Weston is a development for 99 houses - with currently only two houses for sale.

However after the new year residents noticed that one of the final houses to be finished, plot 49, which was still under construction had been demolished with no explanation.

Weston Woods, Weston was a development for 99 houses - with currently only two houses for sale (LDRS).

The Lovell Homes website describes the house as: "The final four-bedroom home is the stunning Stockwood, available for £369,995.

"This home will be ready in summer 2023 and has a beautiful island kitchen and three reception rooms.

"Upstairs you will find four good sized bedrooms, with en-suite to the master bedroom. The last home of this very popular house type is not to be missed."

Weston Woods resident, Jane Williams, said: "I knew that would be the last house to be finished because the workers use it to get through the estate, so it wasn't finished but one day I came out of my house and it had vanished.

"I'm not sure why they pulled it down, or if they are going to rebuild it. We haven't been told anything about it."

A Weston Woods resident came out of her house one day to find the new-build had 'vanished.' (Google).

Weston Woods is described as being 'tucked away in the peaceful haven of Weston village.'

Lovell Homes said: "This highly desirable location offers a welcome alternative to the rush of urban life, with the Cheshire countryside on your doorstep and a ready made community in the village of Weston."

Stephen O'Brien who also lives in Weston Woods said: "It was there one minute and gone the next. I asked the workmen about why it was taken down but I haven't got an answer.

A Cheshire East Council spokesperson added: "Planning permission is in place for the construction of 99 homes on this development.

"Any issues concerning the building work undertaken is a matter for the developers until such time when the council is required to carry out an inspection in relation to building regulations."

Lovell regional commercial director, Steve Walker, added: "During routine quality checks of the property, we identified issues needing investigation.

The Weston house was demolished following an investigation (Google).

"An independent engineer's report recommended further work was carried out and this is now taking place to ensure it is delivered to its future owners to the same high Lovell standards as the rest of the development.

"It will be in line with all local building authority control and NHBC standards."
