New 'chilled' tattoo and piercing shop launches in Crewe town centre
By Ryan Parker 1st Apr 2026
A new tattoo and piercing studio has opened in Crewe town centre, taking on the former Kane Funeral Services unit.
Sinz Tattoo and Body Piercing Studio, Market Street, located next door Warhammer, launched at 10am on Tuesday 31 March.
Operated by Crewe resident of 17 years, Liam Roberts, along with Gemma Roberts (not related), Sinz is made up of an experienced team of three and occupies both floors of the building.
Liam told Nub News: "A bulk of my reputation comes from working at a local tattoo studio for 15 years, that I ended up splitting from in May 2024.
"Straight after there, I located to a small space above Belle Mani salon on Market Street. People were always queueing for me down the stairs, but it felt unprofessional and too crowded.
"From this popularity, I knew it was time for me to expand to my own premises and I am delighted to open my own Sinz Tattoo and Body Piercing Studio on Market Street.

"I have an upstairs and downstairs here, with the tattooing dedicated to upstairs and the piercings downstairs. We also have a self-employed nail technician who has come under the Sinz brand in here.
"The decor, which is quite quirky works for me as I have always liked the Americanised side of the tattoo studios, where things almost look like a living room.
"Customers have told me 'this looks phenomenal' and it has come about by people donating old guitars to me, a few packs of 50 posters off Amazon, as well as wallpaper paste, which has completely transformed it.
"At Sinz, we offer extremely good services for very reasonable prices. If you always do good work at a far price then your doors are always opening and your phones are always ringing.
"We are a very laid back, chilled group of people. A lot of people who have never been before say we are really friendly. I love the interaction with customers and love the overall vibe of this industry.
"Some customers joke saying 'I only come here for counselling.' Everyone always has a story to tell and we are here to listen to it."

Liam, originally from Nantwich, believes Crewe town centre is on an upward trajectory, but wants to see a more diverse range of new premises opening.
The Sinz owner said: "Everybody has an opinion on Crewe town centre today. Any open shop is better than an empty shop, but sadly it is nothing like it used to be.
"When I was a kid you would be in the town centre all day as there was so much to shop for, but times do change and shopping is totally different now.
"I strongly believe we do need to thin on all the same sorts of stuff, as a lot of the shops opening do seem to be almost identical.
"It would be nice to see Crewe fully come back to life again. There has been some progress recently and hopefully there is a lot more to come."
Sinz Tattoo and Body Piercing Studio is open 10am to 5pm (Tuesday to Saturday), with tattoo services run from 10am to 12pm and piercing services run 12pm to 4pm everyday (except for Thursday), a tattoo-only day.
