A new tanning and beauty salon is expected to open close to Crewe's retail park - following the approval of a change of use application by Cheshire East Planning.
The application from Studio Charrette, Earle Street, was approved by the council on Wednesday (November 9).
This change of use will see a change of use from a commercial unit at ground floor (S.J Adams & CO Insurance) and residential at first floor to a single commercial unit.
The residential property has been left vacant for approximately two years - falling into a state of disrepair.
There will be no external changes to the property. Internally, the layout will be updated to reflect the change of use as a tanning and beauty salon.
At ground level, the unit will be partitioned to provide a reception area in the shop front with two private treatment areas behind.
There will be a WC and shower room for customers, a house kitchen and a break-out area for staff.
On the first floor there will also be five private treatment rooms.
A Cheshire East Planning Department case officer was happy with the change of use proposals.
They said: "The principle and design of the proposal are considered acceptable.
"No material impacts on amenity are anticipated. The proposal is in general accordance with the relevant polices of the Development Plan.
"The application is recommended for approval subject to conditions."
The approved application site is a two storey, terraced property.
It is situated a one-minute walk from the Grand Junction Retail Park.
