Firefighters rush to large hedge blaze on local housing estate

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service have rushed to a large hedge fire on a local housing estate - believed to have bene started accidentally.

The incident on Shannon Close, Willaston, happened at 1:30pm today (November 14).

Eight metres of conifer and hedgerow were on fire - caused accidentally.

One fire engine from Nantwich arrived at the scene - putting out the blaze (Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service).

The firefighters dampened the area down where the incident had taken place.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Some eight metres of conifer and hedgerow was involved in a fire which is believed to have started accidentally.

"Firefighters used a hose reel jet to put out the fire and dampen the area down."

This was the second serious incident Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service dealt with today.
