Plans have been submitted to convert a former Crewe appliances store into a takeaway and restaurant - located on a busy food stretch.

Last month (August 26), Mr Dilshad Ahmed, of Crewe, applied for a change of use from an appliance store to a takeaway on Nantwich Road.

The former Waterloo Appliances store has been closed since April this year.

The former Waterloo Appliances store is located next to popular eatery CW2 Burger (Ryan Parker).

It was first believed the appliances store would just be closed for renovation.

On 4 April, the business posted on social media, saying: "We are closed for renovation, will be back soon.

"In the meantime if you need to contact us - please message us on Facebook. Sorry for the inconvenience."

The store never-reopened - remaining empty until this day.

Mr Ahmed plans to install a till and takeout order point, 18 dining tables, a conveyor pizza oven, Tandoori oven grill and a donor meat kebab machine (Cheshire East Planning).

Five months on, plans have emerged to convert the building into a restaurant and takeaway.

Mr Ahmed plans to install a till and takeout order point, dining tables, a conveyor pizza oven, Tandoori oven grill, donor meat kebab machine and a pressure fryer.

Also planned, is a cold room, pizza preparation area, chicken preparation area, a number of fridges and freezers - as well as storage areas.

Mr Ahmed also wants to install an illuminated restaurant sign - to be seen from across Nantwich Road.

On Monday (September 5), Cheshire East Council Environmental Health responded to the application - believing Mr Ahmed had provided 'insufficient' information.

A statement read: "Insufficient information has been submitted with the application, in order to adequately access the impact of the proposed development having regard to noise and odour.

"In the absence of this information, It has not been possible to demonstrate that the proposal would comply with material planning considerations.

"It is recommended that the applicant addresses this issue in future planning applications or provides this information should the application be delayed or withdrawn."

More planning preparation work will be needed for this restaurant and takeaway proposal to be seriously considered.
