Crewe firefighters tackle deliberate woodland fire off busy business park

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service tackled a fire in Crewe woodland off a busy business park - believed to have been been started deliberately.

The incident on Mallard Way, off Crewe Business Park, happened at 1:51pm on Wednesday (September 7).

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "A fire in woodland off Mallard Way was put out by firefighters using a water backpack."

This incident comes just one day after firefighters tackled a serious house fire at a Crewe property - with one casualty taken to hospital.

The fire at a property on Lunt Avenue, happened at 7:58pm on Tuesday (September 6).

Two fire engines from Crewe, one from Nantwich and the rapid response rescue unit from Nantwich quickly arrived at the scene.

The firefighters discovered a large fire within the kitchen of a house - they believed it had been started accidentally.

There was a kitchen fire at a property on Lunt Avenue on Tuesday - September 6 (Ryan Parker).

One person suffered smoke inhalation and was rushed to Leighton Hospital by North West Ambulance Service.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service continue to keep the public safe in emergency situations.
