An established Crewe business is set to open in a vacant town centre unit, relocating from its previous site with a new "technology" concept.

Total Tile UK will be opening at 47 Victoria Street, formerly occupied by Truly Scrumtious sweet shop.

The business, previously known as Total Tile and Bathrooms, Edleston Road, closed its store after over 15 years in January.

Total Tile UK will be opening in the unit formerly occupied by Truly Scrumtious sweet shop (Nub News).

Owner, Curt Hodson, is bringing a new technology tile hub to the town centre, where customers can book an appointment to see the showroom any time they like.

Curt told Nub News: "I am excited to be opening Total Tile UK on Victoria Street within the coming weeks.

"This will be the first 24/7 technology tile shop in the UK, selling Spanish and Italian products.

"Customers will be able to come in-store, have a look around and scan the QR code for any item they like.

"This will then direct them to our website, where they can make the order and have it delivered.

"Many customers like to see what tiles they purchasing face-to-face and this new store concept makes this both possible and convenient.

Total Tile UK, previously known as Total Tile and Bathrooms, Edleston Road, closed its store after over 15 years in January (Ryan Parker).

"I believe Crewe town centre is saveable. The new bus station and multi-storey car park has opened and the market hall continues to be a big success.

"I hope to have Total Tile UK ready within the next six to eight weeks. I will be applying for an Open in Crewe grant scheme. It should really help me out."

The Open in Crewe scheme offers capital grants of up to £30,000 for businesses/organisations taking on leases on vacant town premises.

It could help with the costs of improving the property for occupation including fit-out, as well as buying other capital equipment.

Curt added: "It is important local residents try to remain positive and support the town centre traders, like myself.

"There is still a variety of independent and chain stores. I can't wait to meet customers once Total Tile UK is up and running.

Crewe town centre's new 389-space multi-storey car park officially opened on Monday 29 July (Cheshire East Council).

"We will be ready in September and launching in early October. See you soon."

Crewe Nub News will let local residents know when Total Tile UK is open in the town centre.
