New Crewe shop plans to open in former sweet store on edge of town centre
A new shop plans to open inside a former sweet store on the edge of Crewe town centre - with a premises license application being considered by Cheshire East Council.
In February, mr Karthika Asokan and Mr Uthayashankar Manikarasa, applied for a premises license to open Hightown Food and Wine, on Crewe's Hightown.
The premises license was submitted for the sale of alcohol from the new store - operating Monday to Sunday from 6am to 11pm.
Representations were asked to be made to Cheshire East Council's Licensing Section by Friday 17 March.
A poster of Hightown Food and Wine's premises license application is displayed outside the planned shop.
Hightown Food and Wine will replace former sweet shop, Truly Scrumtious, which relocated to Victoria Street in October 2022.
The shop will be located adjacent to High Town Mini Market and close to Top Taste pizza and kebab, Spice Link tandoori, My Machine tattoo club and Blitz Fireworks.
A new shop with the similar name, called 'AA Food and Wine', is set to open on Gresty Road - opposite Crewe Alexandra Football Club.
This store will be run by Mr Gnanendran Arumugam - replacing former horticultural store, Grass & Ground which closed in 2021.
The Hightown Food and Wine premises license application is expected to be approved by Cheshire East Council.
