New residential training program for international nurses launches in Crewe
Apollo Education UK (AEUK) has launched a new residential NMC OSCE training program at its Crewe campus, delivered in collaboration with Ealoor Consultancy UK Ltd.
The event, held on Wednesday 15 January, drew a diverse audience of international nurses, representatives from NHS Trusts across the UK, and private healthcare employers.
The program, designed to support international nurses in successfully passing the Nursing and Midwifery Council's Objective Structured Clinical Examination (NMC OSCE), represents a pivotal initiative in addressing critical workforce shortages in the UK healthcare sector.
The launch event was well attended by international nurses who recently completed the OSCE training course and successfully passed their exams.
These newly qualified professionals expressed gratitude for the high-quality training they received and the support provided by the program in achieving their professional goals.
Representatives from NHS Trusts and private healthcare employers also participated.
The new residential OSCE training program marks a significant milestone in streamlining the journey for internationally qualified nurses aspiring to work in the UK.
The initiative offers a comprehensive solution for navigating the complexities of certification and clinical preparation, ensuring international nurses are well-equipped to meet NHS standards.
Managing director of Ealoor Consultancy, Mathew James, said: "We are delighted to see the positive impact of this initiative.
"Supporting international nurses in achieving their professional aspirations strengthens the healthcare workforce and contributes to the delivery of exceptional care across the UK."
Special guests included Connor Naismith MP and mayor of Crewe, Cllr Dawn Clark, both of whom found the event to be incredibly insightful.
Attendees were given a guided tour of the state-of-the-art OSCE training facilities at the Apollo campus.
The tour provided an opportunity to observe the resources available to international nurses and understand the rigorous training process.
Guests also participated in a Q&A session with experienced OSCE trainers and had the chance to hear from Norman Franklin, head of the NMC OSCE Training Centre at Northumbria University.
Commercial director of Apollo Education UK, Oliver Jansen, said: "This partnership allows Apollo Education UK to provide a cohesive end-to-end workforce solution for the UK Healthcare sector and nurses that wish to work here.
'We are delighted to welcome Ealoor colleagues onto our campus."
