New £35m distribution centre to be built at old Crewe tea factory site
A huge new £35million distribution unit is set to be built at Crewe's former Co-operative Tea Factory site, targeted to be completed for spring 2025.
Crewe 335, Weston Road, will be located at the heart of Crewe Gates Industrial Estate, with demolition work to clear the land recently completed.
Joint developers, Trebor and Hillwood, recently signed a deal with Glencar to construct a 335,000 sq ft distribution shed.
The 13-acre site will be built to an enhanced specification, including several sustainable initiatives and achieve BREEAM "Excellent" certification.
Known as The Old Tea Factory, this site was formerly occupied by Bargain Booze.
Crewe 335 will be available for occupation in April 2025, with marketing of the scheme ongoing.
Development director at Trebor, Greg Dalton, said: "We are delighted to have reached the next key milestone on this development having recently completed the demolition works.
"Since acquiring the site last Autumn the team has worked hard to ensure we start the main build works as soon as possible.
"We are very pleased to say we can now offer occupation from next April."
Knight Frank and Avison Young are being retained as joint letting agents for Crewe 335, acting on behalf of Trebor and Hillwood.
