A new independent opticians is set to launch in Crewe town centre on Saturday 29 November, offering a full range of clinical services and designer eyewear at "cost-effective" prices.
Crewe Optical, 66 Market Street, will officially open at 10am on the day of Crewe's 2025 Christmas Lights Switch-on, becoming the only independent opticians in the town centre.
Operated by the family-run Bux Health Group, Crewe Optical, which takes on the former William Hill unit, will rival Asda, Boots, Specsavers and Vision Express in central Crewe.

Crewe Optical told Nub News: "As a family business, our mission is to bring truly personal, community-focused eyecare back to the high street.
"As an independent company already trusted for our domiciliary services across the North West and North East, opening our first high-street practice is a natural step in extending that same standard of care to local families and individuals.
"Crewe immediately appealed to us for its warm, welcoming community and the clear need for an independent optical provider in the town centre.
"We are proud to offer residents a genuine alternative to the multiples, one built on experience, continuity, and patient-centred care.
"Our team brings decades of expertise in supporting patients of all ages.
"We provide a full range of clinical services, including dry-eye management, CUES and MECS appointments, independent prescribing, and the management of both acute and chronic eye conditions.
"We also work closely with both NHS and private eye consultants, enabling us to expedite referrals, diagnoses, and treatment pathways when required, ensuring patients receive timely support and the best possible outcomes.

"Alongside this, we offer a curated selection of designer eyewear at cost-effective prices, making high-quality frames and lenses accessible to the whole community."
The opening of Crewe Optical comes after Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care, Victoria Street, permanently closed in November 2024.
Crewe Optical will initially open initially Monday to Saturday (9am to 5:30pm), with Sunday hours (10am to 4.30pm) being added shortly after launch.
