Major opticians chain closes Crewe town centre branch

A major opticians chain with over 180 branches across the UK, has permanently closed its Crewe town centre store.

Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care, Victoria Street, shuttered on Saturday 30 November.

Established in 1938, the family-run business has branches in nearby Alsager, Burslem, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Biddulph and Whitchurch.

Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care was located in Crewe town centre for over two decades (Ryan Parker).

All records from Scrivens' Crewe store have now been transferred to its Alsager branch.

A closure notice is displayed in the Victoria Street unit.

The Scrivens notice reads: "This branch is now closed. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

"All records have been safely transferred to our Alsager branch, Scrivens Opticans and Hearing Care, 10 Lawton Street, Alsager. ST7 2AF, 01270 873 256.

All records from Scrivens' Crewe store have now been transferred to its Alsager branch (Ryan Parker).

"Alternatively, please call our customer care team on 0800 027 5102."

Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care was located in Crewe town centre for over two decades, previously trading from Victoria Shopping Centre.
