A new family-run Asian food shop has launched in a Crewe town centre shopping arcade, with the owners noticing an increase in footfall in the area since their opening.

Oriental Daily Meal, The Market Shopping Centre, officially opened at 10.30am on Saturday 10 May, after soft launching a few weeks prior.

Run by husband and wife, Bryan and Polly, from Hong Kong, who reside in Warrington, Oriental Daily Meal serves a variety of authentic Asian groceries, as well as chilled and frozen produce.

Bryan told Nub News: "Before, when I have come to Crewe for my photography job I met many Hong Kong people and saw there was a big Asian community in Crewe and surrounding areas.

"The Asian community told me they were having to travel to the likes of Stoke-on-Trent, Manchester and Liverpool to get authentic food so I decided to open a shop in Crewe for them and locals to enjoy.

"We spent a while trying to find a suitable unit in Crewe and eventually found a perfect one in The Market Shopping Centre.

"Being in the shopping centre it is very accessible for people coming in cars as there is a big car park so close by.

"Since we opened Oriental Daily Meal, there seems to have been an increase in footfall. It does seems busier around this area now as people come to our store.

"Hopefully footfall will continue to increase and it has been a very positive start for us."

Owners of Oriental Daily Meal, Bryan and Polly, believe the new shop has increased footfall at The Market Shopping Centre (Ryan Parker).

Oriental Daily Meal is located in the former Candle Shop, which closed down after eight years in January 2023.

Bryan said: "We sell a wide variety of Asian products, including Japanese, Thai, Korean, Chinese and Hong Kong items.

"We also sell fresh authentic vegetables. Every week in the morning time I will go a vegetable market to bring items to our store.

"Within our frozen section, we sell the likes of authentic seafood, meat, fruit, desserts and more.

"We have had very good feedback since opening and more and more locals seem to be popping in and checking us out.

Oriental Daily Meal is open 11am to 5pm (Monday to Saturday) and 11am to 3pm (Sunday and bank holidays) (Ryan Parker).

"It seems that people like our store and it is great to appease the Asian community who have waited so long to get a store like this in Crewe."
