A new JD Sports store for Crewe is starting to take shape - with its signage now going up outside the retail park unit.

JD Sports will be moving from Queensway, Crewe town centre, to a bigger unit on the Grand Junction Retail Park later this summer.

The sports-fashion retail company will be joining the likes of M&S and River Island in departing the town centre for the retail park in recent years.

Back in March, a JD Sports spokesperson confirmed the retail park move to Nub News, saying: "I can confirm that JD is moving into a bigger store on the retail park later in the summer."

This imminent arrival of JD Sports comes as another boost for the Grand Junction retail Park.

In May, Matalan submitted a planning application to construct illuminated signage at the former Harveys retail park unit (Cheshire East Planning).

Popular British fashion and homeware retailer, Matalan, also confirmed its plans to open up on the park- following a recent planning application.

PureGym are also still hoping to move into the former Sofology unit on Crewe's retail park.

A number of issues within the planning application are yet to be resolved.

JD Sports is encouraging local people to apply to work at the new retail park store (Ryan Parker).

When JD Sports confirmed the retail park move, it said more information about its new store Crewe would be provided in the coming months.

Crewe Nub News has contacted JD Sports for more comment on the move.
