A new bubble tea shop "as good as anywhere" is set to open inside a popular Crewe town centre eatery's unit, becoming the first of its kind in the area.

Kawaii Boba Tea will be launching inside Hong's Noodle Dumping Bar, Earle Street, this August, run as a separate business to the restaurant.

Crewe's first ever bubble tea shop will be operated by local resident, Jayne Li, from Manchester, who has lived in South Cheshire for 18 years.

"Me and my family have always loved drinking bubble tea and thought there was a great opportunity to open a new shop here," said Mrs Li.

Kawaii Boba Tea will be serving freshly-made bubble tea, Hong Kong milk tea and steamed Dim Sum, along with desserts such as Chinese cakes and ice cream.

The shop was expected to open this July, but has been delayed until mid-August, with some of the imported equipment yet to arrive.

Mrs Li told Nub News: "We are currently waiting for equipment to come and are hopeful of opening in mid-August.

"There will be a bubble tea set-up to the left as you come into Hong's. This is a totally separate business and this will be made clear.

"We managed to find a few people walking past the shop from Hong Kong to come and try the bubble tea.

"They said they loved it and it tasted authentic like they were back in Hong Kong."

Mrs Li had been searching for suitable unit in Crewe to open Kawaii Boba Tea for some time.

After speaking to Hong's owner, Simon Shen, the pair came to an agreement of going into partnership.

Mrs Li said: "I tried to open this shop inside Crewe Market Hall, but they didn't have anything available at the time.

Jayne Li enquired to open Kawaii Boba Tea in Crewe Market Hall, but there were no units available at the time (Ryan Parker).

"There were a few different premises around the town centre I looked at, eventually contacting Simon Shen from Hong's.

"He suggested we could go into partnership, with us running the two businesses separately and I thought it would work out well.

"I have always wanted to run my own shop. Growing up, my parents ran a lot of different businesses and worked all the time.

"I didn't get to spend much time with them. I always said I would look after my kids and do my own thing once they had grown up.

"The time has now come for me to run Kawaii Boba Tea and I really can't wait to get started."

Mrs Li has promised the bubble tea shop will be as good as anything you can get in the UK, matching the quality of its origins in East Asia.

The business owner added: "The bubble tea you will be be getting will be as good as anywhere in the UK, such as Manchester, Liverpool and London.

"Even the experience of poking your straw in and getting your first sip will be exciting for everyone who tastes it.

"Bubble tea is originally from Taiwan and that is where all my products are imported from."

"I can't wait to see everyone come in and try my products, it will be well worth the wait."
