Crewe Alex fans flock to 'great' town centre away kit launch event

Hundreds of Crewe Alexandra FC fans flocked to a "great" away kit launch event, located within a popular Crewe town centre venue.

Crewe Alex first-team players from the men's and women's teams launched the club's new away kit at Crewe Market Hall on Wednesday 26 July.

The Railwaymen Supporters Society (RSS) event, which ran from 5pm until 8pm, included player meet and greets, face painting, poetry and music from Cat radio.

At 6pm, players came out to unveil the new teal and gold kit in front of a large crowd.

New signings, Mickey Demetriou, Jack Powell and Harvey Davies modelled the new strip, as well as Charlie Colkett and Lewis Billington.

Men's first-team manager, Lee Bell, and club mascot, Gresty the Lion, were in attendance along with Mayor of Crewe, Dennis Straine-Francis and local poet, Gareth Williams.

Over 100 of the new away strips were sold at the event, with attendees purchasing food and drink from the market hall outlets.

Impressed by the kit launch, Crewe fan, Grant Coiley, told Nub News: "I've not seen the Crewe Market Hall so full.

"The club and the Railwaymen Supporters Society publicised it really well, it was a great event.

"The shirt wow, it's an absolute beauty, isn't it?"
