A neighbour to a Crewe garage has pleaded against new submitted proposals - extending its car wash opening hours at night.
Earlier this year, Motor Fuel Group Limited applied to extend the opening hours of its Shell Crewe Service Station Car Wash, Bradfield Road.
Motor Fuel Group wants to extend car wash opening hours to 7am to 9pm (Monday to Saturday) and 8am to 7pm (Sunday and Bank Holidays).
The Bradfield Road car wash has been operating from 8am to 6pm (Monday to Saturday) and 10am to 6pm (Sunday and Bank Holidays), since 1990.
Cheshire East Council went on to part-approve the application.
On Wednesday (November 3), the council refused a variation of condition on the approved application - saying 'insufficient information' had been submitted relating to noise generation.
A neighbour to the Crewe car wash was frustrated with the extension proposals.
He submitted an objection to the application saying: "I live opposite the garage. When the car wash is on it is very noisy.
"It is bad enough the garage operates 24 hours with people screeching onto the garage with music blaring out at the dead of night without having the bright lights and extra noise of the car wash until 9pm at night. Especially at weekends.
"I and my neighbours all work full-time and want to relax in the evenings.
"Bradfield Road is like a motorway with the volume off traffic.
"Please do not add insult to injury by extending the car wash hours that will be used by taxis and other noisy vehicle owners.
"Who needs to be disturbing the peace in a car wash at that time of night.
"It won't stop at 9pm as they don't abide by current operating hours.
"Is the profit for the garage going to take priority over the residents who have lived on Bradfield Road for 30 to 40 years? Please reconsider this application."
Cheshire East Council received another representation to the car wash hours extension - also objecting on the grounds of noise and disturbance.
If Motor Fuel Group submits a full noise assessment to Cheshire East Council - the application is expected to be approved.
A target decision date for the car wash application was Wednesday (October 12).
