A Crewe mum has claimed teachers at a high school in the town are "constantly" bullying her son, with the school now investigating the allegations.
The school, Sir William Stanier Community School, Coronation Street, has provided a response to Nub News.
In its latest Ofsted report, it was deemed Sir William Stanier - named after a former railway engineer - 'requires improvement.'
Social media comment based on the mother's comments includes other accusations against the school, supporting her allegations.
The parent, who wishes to remain anonymous, says her 12-year-old son is being targeted at the secondary school, with urgent action needed.
She told Nub News: "My son has been constantly bullied by members of staff for a long while and he has had detentions handed out to him like raffle tickets on a weekly basis."
The mother alleges that at times the action taken against her son has included physical contact, which she believes could even be treated as assault.
The mother has made a number of specific allegations, with details of individual incidents, which Crewe Nub News has referred to the school for comment.
In addition to her summary of incidents, the mother delivered a damning condemnation on Sir William Stanier Community School, saying: "There is no safeguarding in this school unless you are a member of staff.
"This school definitely lives up to its reputation and needs major improvements."
A Sir William Stanier spokesperson responded to the allegations, saying: "As a school, the health, safety and wellbeing of our students is our top priority.
"We uphold the highest expectations for our students and staff, ensuring they are able to learn and work in a supportive, nurturing learning environment.
"We take any concerns regarding behaviour and safeguarding seriously.
"Whilst we cannot discuss the circumstances of an individual student, we can reassure our school community we have already addressed the questions raised, in line with our relevant safeguarding and behaviour policies.
"As a school, we are focused on continuing our journey of improvement and are pleased our recent Ofsted monitoring inspection recognised staff fully understand their role in managing pupils' behaviour and make consistent and fair use of the new approaches to managing behaviour which we have put into place.
"As always, should any parents have specific questions regarding their child, we encourage them to reach out directly to the school for a conversation.
"Should they not be satisfied with the outcome of the initial discussion, they may raise any remaining concerns through the appropriate channel, for example, our complaints policy.
"Additionally, we would of course take relevant appropriate action in response should a particular situation require it."
