M&S to relocate Crewe foodhall across town in mid-2027 shuttering fashion outlet

M&S is submitting plans to relocate from its existing store in Crewe to a new triple-sized foodhall in Basford for mid-2027, closing the town's fashion outlet in the process.
The new M&S Food, located south of Basford Brook Way, subject to planning permission, would deliver a new fresh market-style food hall within a new shopping hub, delivered by Muse.
M&S' Grand Junction Retail Park store, would not close until the new site is ready, with store colleagues transferring across.

The 21,000 sq ft unit two-floor store, housing M&S clothing, homeware and an 110-seater cafe has been operational since M&S relocated from Market Street next door to its foodhall in August 2017.
Regional manager for M&S, Katie Whelan, told Nub News: "We are excited to share our future relocation plans, meaning we can offer customers in Crewe the entire M&S Food range from a food hall triple the existing size.
"Our store rotation plan is all about investing to ensure we can deliver the best possible shopping experience for customers.
"At our Basford location, we'll be able to do just that and secure a sustainable future for M&S in Crewe.
"Customers can look forward to a brand-new in-store bakery, refreshed produce offer from our Select Farm partners, the latest in-store innovations and EV charging points.

"Colleagues will transfer across to the new store when ready in mid-2027.
"Customers will still be able to get their M&S Fashion and Beauty favourites via Click and Collect, at our nearby full-line stores or delivered to their home via our website."
