Plans to introduce a shopping hub with drive-thru restaurants in an upcoming Crewe neighbourhood development have been unveiled.

Muse wants to create the convenience hub, off David Whitby Way, Basford East, facilitating shopping, dining and socialising. 

The regeneration firm plans to serve the upcoming Crewe neighbourhood, welcoming up to 850 homes by 2030.

Muse has launched a consultation on its Basford East proposals, running until Tuesday 7 November (Muse).

Proposals are for a three-acre site, close to the A500 and Junction 16 of the M6.

It includes plans a discount supermarket or superstore, as well as drive-thru eateries on a 31,600 square foot commercial site.

Two outline plans have been produced for the shopping space.

The first features a 21,000 square foot discount supermarket and a 2,00 square foot drive-thru restaurant.

A second draws up a potential 4,400 square foot convenience store, with two drive-thru restaurants measuring 2,000 square foot and 3,800 square foot.

Proposals are for a three-acre site, located close to the A500 and Junction 16 of the M6, off David Whitby Way (Ryan Parker).

This would also include 3,400 square foot of flexible retail space for an independent businesses.

The development would also include electric vehicle charging points, cycle storage, green spaces and footpaths.

Muse has launched a consultation on its proposals, running until Tuesday 7 November.

Development manager at Muse, Tom Ivinson, said: "Residents moving into the Basford East area will be pioneering a new neighbourhood and laying the foundation for a community identity.

Two outline plans have been produced for the new Crewe shopping space (Muse).

"This requires more than just building new homes, it needs the added ingredients of what makes a neighbourhood – such as access to local shops and eateries."

A drop–in event for the plans will be held between on Tuesday 31 October at The White Lion, Weston, between 2pm and 7pm.
