CREWE and Nantwich MP Kieran Mullan wants to hear what constituents think about the looming second national lockdown.

The Conservative MP will cast his vote in Parliament this week and while there has been some dissent in government ranks about the restrictions which come into force on Thursday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson's month-long measures are certain to be rubber stamped.

But our local MP is seeking to find out the answers to some unanswered questions about how the lockdown may affect people. The rules regarding grassroots sports, for example, have not been made clear.

The MP said: "As your MP it is my responsibility to vote for what I think is best as there is no perfect way to vote on behalf of 80,000 constituents as you will not all have the same view.

"Many of you who are working and raising families or with other responsibilities will also not all have the time to read up on the detail about what the government wants to do and why.

"I also have my own experience working on the frontline in the NHS earlier in the year to consider.

"But on a big issue like this I am interested in hearing your views to help me make a decision that takes into account what you think even though in the end not everyone will agree with my vote."

The MP has launched a survey, which can be completed in a minute, to gauge views. It is

here.

You can find out more about the lockdown rules that will apply from Thursday here.
