More Crewe pubs announce opening for televised funeral of Queen Elizabeth II

Two more Crewe pubs have announced they will open for the funeral service of Queen Elizabeth II - taking place on a UK bank holiday.

Yesterday (September 15), The Imperial pub, Edleston Road, and The Cheese Hall, Earle Street - announced they would be opening for the televised funeral.

At 2:09pm, the Imperial pub made a Facebook announcement, saying: "Monday 19 September Is the day we all lay to rest our beautiful Queen.

"We can't all be there but we can all be together.

"Our doors will be open from 10am to invite you all in to be with us to watch the service together on all our screens, big and small (all 7).

"The pub will be dressed up, lets all embrace the feeling as if we were there being a part of it.

Queen Elizabeth's funeral ceremony will be shown live on all seven Imperial pub TV screens (Crewe Nub News).

"Food will be put on for everyone who attends. Cheap drinks, free tea or coffee.

"We hope to see you all on this special day. It's okay not to be okay, but you never have to be alone."

At 3:46pm, The Cheese Hall made a social media announcement, saying: "We will be open on Monday 19 September and paying our final respects to Her Majesty The Queen.

"Everyone is welcome to join us."

The Cheese Hall pub, Earle Street, will also be open to screen Queen Elizabeth II's funeral ceremony (Crewe Nub News).

On Tuesday (September 13), The Rising Sun Vaults, Earle Street, announced it would be serving free sandwiches and hot drinks alongside the Queen's funeral ceremony.

Landlady Karen Burke Hurley told Nub News: "We have a lot of regulars that rely on us opening. They are on their own - some of their partners have passed away.

"Rather than our regulars staying at home, we will put on some sandwiches for them with tea and coffee.

"This event is not for profit but to make sure people aren't on their own.

On Tuesday (September 13), The Rising Sun Vaults, Earle Street, announced it would be open all day on the funeral to esnure non one is alone watching it (Google).

"If people want to come and watch the funeral around others they are more than welcome."

Crewe and Nantwich MP, Dr Kieran Mullan has invited four Crewe and Nantwich guests to the Lying in State of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II - taking place this Sunday (September 18).
