Man in hospital following collision and car blaze incident in Crewe

A man is currently in hospital with minor injuries following a serious two-vehicle in Crewe, where one of the vehicles caught fire.

The collision involved a red Ford Fiesta and a silver Mazda 2, with the Fiesta catching fire.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service put out of the flames, with the driver =, a 23-year-old woman, not injured in the incident.

The driver of the Mazda, a 46-year-old man, sustained a fracture to his wrist and was taken to hospital for treatment.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

No arrests were made in the incident, with Warmingham Road closed for a short time while the vehicles were recovered.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At around 12.13am on Thursday 9 May, officers responded to reports of a road traffic collision on Warmingham Road.

The driver of the Mazda, a 46-year-old man, sustained a fracture to his wrist and was taken to hospital for treatment (Ryan Parker).

"Attending the scene, officers found that the collision involved a red Ford Fiesta and a silver Mazda 2.

"As a result of the collision, the Fiesta had caught alight and a crew from Cheshire Fire and Rescue quickly attended the scene and extinguished the fire.

"The driver of the Fiesta, a 23-year-old woman, was not injured during the incident.

"The driver of the Mazda, a 46-year-old man, sustained a fracture to his wrist and was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

No arrests were made in the incident, with Warmingham Road closed for a short time while the vehicles were recovered (Cheshire Police).

"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

"Anyone who has any information or witnessed the incident is urged to contact Cheshire Police via 101 or online, quoting: IML-1818859."
