Crewe pub reopens with big changes following month-long refurbishment
A Crewe pub chain has officially reopened following a month-long refurbishment, with the building "spruced up" for the summer.
The Duke of Gloucester, Beswick Drive, welcomed customers back at 12pm on Wednesday 8 May.
Operated by J.W. Lees, the Crewe pub has had a glow up inside and out, along with the addition of shuffleboard tables for people to enjoy.
Offering a British pub classics food menu, The Duke of Gloucester has also recruited new members of staff.
General manager of The Duke of Gloucester, Joe Lusher, told Nub News: "We are all delighted with the result of the refurbishment.
"We haven't lost any of the character or atmosphere of the pub, but it feels up-to-date, fresh and bright and looks amazing.
"The shuffleboards have been really popular so far and add a new feature that we didn't have before.
"The restaurant and bar have a really welcoming atmosphere and the outside spaces have all been spruced up just in time for the summer.
"All our brilliant existing team are still here and we've recruited some great new additions to make sure the service continues to grow with the pub."
The Duke of Gloucester's Big Quiz Night has now been permanently moved over to Sunday evenings.
The venue is open from 12pm to 11pm (Monday to Friday) and 8am to 11pm (Saturday and Sunday).
