Man 'found deceased' near to former Crewe town centre liberal club
Cheshire Police officers have confirmed the death of a man "in his 70s" in Crewe - who collapsed near to a former town centre liberal club.
At around 5:40am on Monday 5 June, police were called to Gatefield Street following reports a man had been found collapsed.
Cheshire Police officers quickly arrived at the scene - discovering an elderly man had died.
Gatefield Street was closed off for several hours with police, forensic officers and an ambulance at the scene.
Currently, the man's death is not being treated as suspicious - with his next of kin informed.
A case file will now be prepared for the coroner.
On Tuesday 6 June, Cheshire Police confirmed the incident to Nub News.
"At around 5.40am on Monday 5 June, police were called to reports that a man had been found collapsed on Gatefield Street, Crewe.
"Officers attended the scene and man, believed to be in his 70's, was found deceased near to the former liberal club.
"His next of kin have been informed.
"The man's death is not believed to be suspicious at the current time and a case file will be prepared for the coroner."
