Man charged with wounding with intent following Crewe knife attack

A Crewe man has been charged with wounding with intent, following a serious stabbing on a residential street in the town.

Gheorghe Harasim, 53, of Hungerford Avenue, assaulted a person with a knife on the same street on Saturday 16 March.

Harasim was arrested at the scene and taken into police custody.

The Crewe man has since been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.

He has also been charged with the possession of a knife/blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.

Harasim appeared at Chester Magistrates' Court on Monday 18 March and has been remanded into prison until his trial.
