Why are the contractors not paying for this work it's clearly a problem that's been accelerated because of heavy trucks into the new build housing estate

breaking news...

sort of! The road is closed today so that some people from the "traffic management" contractors could turn up at a time of their convenience and erect a load of plastic barriers, most of which will serve no purpose. No actual work is being done!!! Presumably the work is Wednesday and Thursday then Friday will depend on what time the first people will fit it into their busy diary and come back for the barriers. Most of the footpaths are also closed with a pedestrian diversion across a grass verge.

proof of how badly managed these roadworks are is the fact that they say "zebra crossing". That was removed last summer in the first lot of badly managed roadworks that caused chaos and over £10,000 damage in Shakespeare Drive. This lot are something to do with poor quality resurfacing from those works when they dug the road up to lay cables for the replacement light controlled crossing.
