Major road by Crewe hospital closed one-way for next few weeks

A major road by Leighton Hospital in Crewe is closed one-way for the next few weeks, allowing gas and water connection works to take place.

Flowers Lane, between Gordon Geddes Way and Bradfield Road, closed to motorists on Monday 17 June.

The road, which was recently altered for the new North West Crewe Package (NWCP) development, is targeted to reopen on Friday 19 July.

PN Daly aims to complete the works much sooner than the July 19 target date (Ryan Parker).

PN Daly are carrying out the works, laying gas and water mains for new housing developments.

The utilities contractor aimed to complete the works much sooner than the July 19 target date, although this is now unlikely.

This Flowers Lane closure is affecting the 12, 31, 42 and 317 bus routes in the town.

Bus services are travelling via the new Bob Brown Way, Middlewich Road, West Street and Minshull New Road.

Emergency access will be maintained where possible. Motorists can travel from Bradfield Road to Flowers Lane as usual (Ryan Parker).
