Local woman arrested for fleeing scene after car crashes into tree in Crewe
A 27-year-old 'local woman' has been arrested for fleeing the scene of a collision - after a vehicle crashed into a tree in the middle of the night in Crewe.
The incident on Wistaston Green Road, close to the junction with Moreton Road, happened at 2:20am on Friday 12 May.
Cheshire Police officers and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service quickly arrived at the scene - discovering a black Vauxhall Astra crashed into a tree.
The occupants of the vehicle had already fled the scene on foot.
Police officers located a 27-year-old 'local woman' - arresting her on suspicion of failing to stop following a collision.
Enquiries are ongoing to trace the second occupant of the crashed car.
On Friday 12 May, Cheshire Police confirmed the incident to Nub News.
A spokesperson said: "At 2.20am on 12 May a black Vauxhall Astra collided with a tree on Wistaston Green Road.
"The occupants of the car fled the scene on foot.
"A 27-year-old local woman has since been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop following a collision.
"Enquiries are ongoing to trace the second occupant of the car."
