Local man arrested after carrying offensive weapon 'in a public place' in Crewe
A local man has been arrested for carrying an offensive weapon and causing a disturbance "in a public place" in Crewe - located on a busy road within the town.
The incident on Edleston Road, happened at 7:15pm on Tuesday 27 June, with a member of the public reporting a male with a baseball bat causing a disturbance in the street.
Cheshire Police officers quickly arrived at the scene - finding the man with the weapon in an intoxicated state.
Officers swiftly arrested the 38-year-old on suspicion of possession of a weapon in a public place.
No one was reported as injured in the incident. The man remains in police custody.
On Wednesday 28 June, Cheshire Police confirmed the incident to Nub News.
A spokesperson said: "At 7.15pm on Tuesday 27 June, police were made aware of a man possibly armed with a weapon in the Edleston Road area of Crewe.
"Officers attended and a 38-year-old local man was arrested nearby on suspicion of possession of a weapon in a public place.
"The man remains in custody at the current time."
