Liverpool FC forward and Dutch international, Cody Gakpo, has been named as Bentley Motors' new ambassador for the UK and Europe, strengthening the connection between the Premier League footballer and the Crewe-based luxury carmaker.

The partnership was announced following a visit to Bentley's Pyms Lane headquarters in Crewe earlier this year, where the 26-year-old was given a behind-the-scenes look at the marque's craftsmanship and engineering.

Immersed in the world of Bentley's artisans, Gakpo observed the meticulous processes behind the creation of the company's high-performance vehicles and even tried his hand at stitching a steering wheel.

During the visit, the 2024/25 Premier League winner met with Phillip Dean from Bentley's Mulliner division to create a bespoke specification for his new Bentayga Speed, which will be delivered in early 2026.

Gakpo chose a Rubino Red exterior with a Pillar Box Red and Beluga interior, a nod to his Liverpool team colours.

He currently drives a Bentayga S Black Edition V8 in Royal Ebony Satin with a Mandarin and Beluga interior, reflecting his Dutch heritage and the colours of the national team, Oranje.

He also purchased a Bentayga for his father in the Netherlands, who he credits as his greatest inspiration.

Gakpo told Bentley: "Growing up, my parents always showed me what hard work really means.

"Gifting my dad his Bentayga was a full circle moment, a way of saying thank you for everything he's taught me, and something we used to dream about together.

"For me, Bentley represents family, ambition, and the idea of hard work paying of, a reflection of how far I have come and everything I am still striving for.

"Being named an ambassador for Bentley Motors EMEA is an incredible honour, and hopefully I'll be driving a Bentley for the rest of my life."

Gakpo's ambassadorship comes as Bentley continues to celebrate its 106-year heritage while pursuing its Beyond100+ strategy, a commitment to creating a fully electric model range by 2035.
