A major UK footwear retailer has announced it will be relocating to another Crewe retail park store - with a new store taking its current unit.

Shoe Zone, Grand Junction Retail Park, confirmed to Nub News it was relocating to another retail park store on Friday 5 May.

Shoe Zone, Grand Junction Retail Park, confirmed to Nub News it was relocating to another retail park store on Friday 5 May (Ryan Parker).

A Shoe Zone shop worker confirmed to Nub News the relocation was agreed last week - with a new retailer set to replace Shoe Zone's current Crewe store.

On Thursday 4 May, Cheshire East Planning approved an application for external alterations to Shoe Zone's current unit.

This will see the installation of two new glazed sections to either side of the unit's main entrance doors.

A Cheshire East planning officer was satisfied with the proposals - believing they were 'acceptable.'

A statement read: "The proposed development is considered to be of an acceptable design that is appropriate for the functional need and the surrounding site.

Shoe Zone placed closing down signs at its current retail park store in February (Ryan Parker).

"As such there will be no visual impact on the street scene or the surrounding area in general.

"Furthermore, there will not be any significant impact on neighbouring residential amenity."

Shoe Zone was founded in England in 1917 - with its headquarters based in Leicester.

The chain store sells shoes for women, men and children at small prices.

As of 2021, Shoe Zone had over 410 stores in different cities and towns throughout the UK and Ireland - with over 2,854 employees.

The company sells approximately 16 million pairs of footwear per year.

Crewe Nub News has contacted Shoe Zone for comment - the relocation is due to rent fees.
